with our wooden coasters from real whisky barrels...

Our coasters are handcrafted from the inside of used whisky barrels. We take the wood from where the whisky has been stored for years, process it and seal it in an epoxy resin. Once protected and cut into shape, a matt or glossy coating is applied to the surface. If everything fits, the finished blanks are set in one of our 3 frames and are ready to provide the perfect place for the whisky glasses...

copper

Our most elegant version is set in a copper frame. A perfect combination of copper that is reminiscent of the distillery's stills and the wood of old whisky barrels.

The copper frame was CNC milled from a single piece of copper. The edge was polished and the back is matte. The copper surface was coated with a protective varnish to prevent tarnishing.

How are our whisky coasters made

In the pictures you can see in a short sequence how we make our coasters

- We dismantle the whisky barrel into the individual staves

- We cut the inside off the individual staves. The wood is black and charred because the barrels are burned out before filling

- We sand and process the wood, sometimes revealing more or less of the light oak wood

-The wood is cast in crystal clear epoxy resin and cut into the appropriate shape after drying

- After sanding and adjusting, the surface is painted in matt or glossy

- Once everything is dry, it is fitted into one of our 3 frames
